One common misconception is that the gift of tongues has passed away. However, a careful examination of Scripture reveals otherwise. In 1 Corinthians 13:8-10, Paul mentions that tongues will cease when "that which is perfect has come." This perfect state refers to the return of Jesus Christ, which has not yet occurred.
